Hello, wonderful Kitchener Tech Club community!
As we launch into a brand-new season, I’m thrilled to welcome both returning and new members to our vibrant club. The Kitchener Tech Club has become a place where older adults can connect, learn, and thrive in today's ever-changing tech world — and this year promises to be even more exciting.
From our informative Speaker Meetings, held each third Wednesday morning (with a friendly coffee break to connect and chat) to our engaging Share & Learn sessions every fourth Wednesday (bring your own device or borrow one, and explore new ideas together), and our relaxed Drop-In support gatherings both in-person and online, there’s something here for everyone.
Our mission is as strong as ever: providing opportunities for you to use technology in a supportive, inclusive space. We're proud to challenge stereotypes about older adults and technology, honour the wisdom and diversity of our members, and empower everyone to be confident in our digital world.
Let’s embrace the season ahead — filled with discovery, friendship, and connection. I can’t wait to meet you at our upcoming events and see all that we’ll achieve together.
~ Susan

Grand River Transit Hands-On Workshop
We are excited to announce a special session featuring Dave Steffler from Grand River Transit (GRT). During this workshop, members will be shown how to install and set up the GRT app on their smartphones. We also hope to have age verification completed during the meeting so you can start using the app by the time you leave! With the configured app, you'll be able to ride Grand River Transit for $3 instead of $4, plus enjoy free all-day travel one day each week. This is a wonderful opportunity to master your smartphone and make transit easier while the weather is nice.

Can't find us on Facebook or Instagram? Don't take it personally - we didn't "unfriend" or "dis-like" you! It's just that we noticed those sites aren't getting very many visitors. As a volunteer-run group, we felt we should spend more time on things that people want and are using. We therefore closed our "pages" on Facebook and Instagram at the end of August.
We encourage you to stay up-to-date with what’s happening by checking the Kitchener Tech Club website for all information about the club, past events, and upcoming dates.
