Meeting Date: October 2025
Time: 9:30 - 11:30
Guest Speaker: Andrew
Location: ** Communitech **
We were so fortunate in October to be able to meet at Communitech for a presentation about the work they do, as well as a tour. Our 2 hosts, Gowri and Andrew were so welcoming and informative and took time to answer all of our questions. Many of us also enjoyed some social time at Balzacs afterwards. All in all, it was a wonderful morning!
FYI - Communitech is a non-profit innovation hub and public-private partnership that supports Canadian tech companies in starting, growing, and succeeding. This is where an individual or group can bring an idea – and through the help, guidance, coaching, mentoring and even financial assistance that Communitech Hub provides – can bring their idea to production, marketing and to the public. Examples of companies that have grown through Communitech include Blackberry (pioneered the Smartphone), Desire to Learn (a tech educational program used in schools and universities), Kik Interactive (one of the earliest popular chat apps), Avidbots (Neo-floor-scrubbing robot used in malls, airports and warehouses worldwide), Arctic Wolf (founded in Waterloo, now US HQ – a global leader in cybersecurity operations) and so many more including medical advancements and programs.
Here are a few photos from the morning.
