After experiencing several special training sessions at the Apple Store in Conestoga Mall, our group has been exposed to many of the amazing basic features that are available on Apple Devices. Adam, our regular instructor, has done a wonderful job showing us how to find, install, and/or set up these features. At the end of the one hour of instruction, most of us have felt excited and amazed by what we have learned.
Although there are many other features that could be considered, it has become apparent that the group is very diverse in their specific interests and needs, as well as the version of the iPhone or iPad that they are using. With the recent release of Apple’s latest operating system (iOS 26), some of the features included will not run on older iPhones or iPads. This results in a portion of the group being unable to participate in and benefit from the training. This became apparent as a result of our last session dealing with the new iOS 26 features in October.
As a result, we are planning to take a break from these training sessions. As our group members upgrade their devices, as new members join the group, and as we find we need a review of some of the basics, we will consider reviving these sessions which the Apple Store has so eagerly offered to us. In the meantime, I plan to send suggested feature articles to members of the group. If you would like your name added to the group, please send an email to me.
